Officiating: |
Hi Everyone,
An extremely important part of competitive swimming is the officiating.
The officials are trained, certified volunteers who guide the meet, and
make sure the swimmers are doing strokes "legally". This helps the
swimmers to learn from their mistakes, and to run a fair meet. Our team
has generally been well represented in the swimming community in this
regard.
However - swimmers grow up and move on ... as do their parents!
So, we are looking for the "next generation" so to speak. Remember - you
are at these meets anyway, and this does fulfill your volunteer
commitments for WWRX.
Please view the
Officiating page for full details.

Anyone needing to purchase a suit for meets is asked to
contact Cliona Beaulieu at
n.beaulieu@sbcglobal.net or at (860) 752-0053 as soon
as possible.
The suit for the Summer season is the same as the Winter
season: Speedo Solar Flare.
Although the price on the website
is $65 for girls' suits we can purchase them for $57.
The boys' suit is a navy blue
jammer with a red stripe down the side. The price of the
jammer is $35.
If you need help with sizing
please let me know.
If you need to order any goggles,
etc please check out this website and I can place one order
for all of us with a slightly better price than what is
offered.
All orders must be placed by
Sunday June 22 because our first meet is on June 30th. I am
hoping the suits will have arrived by then. All payments
due by Monday June 23rd, check or cash only.

| Note From Coach Neil to A-Championship
Swimmers. "I wanted to congratulate everyone on a
great rec. championships... where a lot of best times were
posted and a lot of top 12 finishes, helping us earn our first
championship title in many years. Over all our team came in
first out of 15 teams by over 200 points!
Special Congratulations to the girls 11/12 200 FR for breaking a
20 year old record. Way to go Christine, Brianna, Kelly, and
Missy.
IT REALLY WAS A GREAT DAY AND IT WAS NICE TO SEE SO MANY OF OUR
SWIMMERS AND RELAYS DO SO WELL."

Consider becoming a stroke and turn official for the WWRX swim
club. A training class is being offered on January 9th
in Wethersfield. This is one of the few classes that is offered
so close to Windsor. Training and registration fees for
officials are paid by the WWRX team. Officiating puts you right
in the middle of the action, and fulfills your required
volunteer assignments. If you have questions, contact one of
our current officials (listed on our home page). |

| The
National Age Group Top 16 Recognition Program is an awards
program for the top level of age group swimmers across the
nation. It is administered by the USA Swimming Times and
Recognition Committee with the assistance of the USA Swimming
Staff. All times which are accepted as "official times" by USA
Swimming, from sanctioned, approved or observed competition, are
eligible for consideration. The swimmer must have been a
registered member of USA Swimming at the time of the swim.
Congratulations to the following Connecticut Swimming athletes
that achieved National Top 16 Recognition for the 2006-2007
season, September 1, 2006 through August 31, 2007.
